Maharashtra Mandal Chicago (MMC) is celebrating Makar Sankranti on Saturday, January 28^th 2012 @ The Meadows Club, 2950 W. Golf Rd, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008 . We have planned an evening of fun and entertainment for you. We will start off with traditional Haldi-Kunku for the ladies, followed by Kathak and fusion dances performed by Chicagoland youth artists. This will be followed by a Music program by Ramchandra Joshi and Madhuri Jadhav who will pay tribute to the legends we lost last year -  Bhimsen Joshi, Jagjit Singh, Shrinivas Khale, Ustad Sultan Khan. The second half of this music program will be “Apali Awad”, a treasure of popular Marathi songs from yesteryears. The event will culminate with Indian food that will be a combination of heavy and light snacks and your favorite “GooL PoLi” specially shipped from Mumbai. To make this a memorable event, two MMC volunteers will be available to take a Family picture just for you. So look your best!

Here is what we need you to be aware of in order to make Makar Sankranti event a memorable experience

This year MMC has been successful in collaborating with Meadows Club and has come up with the best possible deal exclusively for our community. This event is designed to be a paid RSVP event.  So in addition to RSVP, we are requiring all attendees to send in pre-payment. This is to minimize monetary losses like those that MMC has had to incur at last few events. This is also to encourage people to show up when they RSVP so that there is no unnecessary wastage of food.

 

MMC membership allows you to get tickets at discounted prices. We have simplified the membership model from previous years and have reduced the Family Membership fees by about 50%. MMC membership fee is a non-refundable fee. Here is the new fee structure:

 

a.      Regular Family Membership (Husband, Wife and Kids): $25

b.      Single Membership(One person only): $15

c.       Life Membership (Same as last year): $600

d.      Patron Membership (not offered in 2012)

We recognize the last minute change in plans that require people to cancel their registration for the event. To provide that flexibility to event attendees, as well as minimize monetary losses to MMC, we are implementing following Cancellation/Refund policy.

1.      Note that 2012 MMC Membership fee is non-refundable.  

2.      Cancellations must be submitted via email to karyakarini@mahamandalchicago.org

3.      Cancellation should include the First Name, Last Name and email address under which Registration was made (Refer to confirmation email).

4.      Refunds will be processed within two weeks following the MMC event.

 

Cancellations made on or before Jan 21^st 2012: 90% of event tkt price refunded. 

Cancellations after Jan 21^st 2012: 25% of event tkt price refunded. But you may choose one of the following options. Inform us about the option you have chosen in your cancellation request email.

1.      Send a Proxy (someone else in your place) to attend the event. We request that the name of the person attending on your behalf be emailed to karyakarini@mahamandalchicago.org so we may greet them cordially and avoid any embarrassing questioning.

2.      Accept a refund of 25% of the amount paid towards Makar Sankranti event.

Pre-payment was made for 2 adults and a 6yr old child along with Regular Family Membership, in the amount of $75.

Event tkt: $50      ($20 * 2 Adults + $10 *1 child)

Regular Family Membership: $25 Non-Refundable.

 

If Cancellation request is sent in on 15^th Jan: Refund Amount = $45 (90% of $50)

If Cancellation request is sent in on 22^nd Jan: Refund Amount =$12.50 (25% of $50)

 

POINTS TO REMEMBER:

1.      Makar Sankranti is a paid RSVP event.

2.      It’s time to take 2012 MMC Annual Membership. This year it’s going to be $25 regular family membership and $15 for Single membership. You can send in your membership fees/check along with the Makar Sankranti Program payment.

3.      Make your checks payable to "Maharashtra Mandal Chicago".

4.      All the checks should be received at the specified address before Saturday Jan 21^st, 2012

5.      Familiarize yourself with Refund/Cancellation Policy

6.      Please come to the event around 4pm to allow ample time for registration and Family picture.
